Gräber müssen heutzutage in Deutschland günstig und pflegeleicht sein. Während Friedhöfe verwaisen und Sargbestattungen für viele zu teuer werden, erleben populäre Angebote, wie die Urnenbeisetzung in der freien Natur, einen regelrechten Ansturm. Der Film beobachtet verschiedene Protagonisten inmitten dieser kulturellen Umwälzung: Trauernde im Wald, Menschen auf der Suche nach dem Baum, an dem sie begraben sein wollen, und Entrepreneure aus der Bestattungsbranche, die sich mit kundenorientierten Innovationen auf diese neuen Bedürfnisse einzustellen versuchen.
Transition
Nowadays, graves in Germany must be inexpensive and easy to upkeep. Whereas graveyards are gradually dying out and coffin burials are becoming too expensive for many people, there is a real run on popular offers such as urn burials in natural surroundings. The film takes a look at different protagonists in the midst of this cultural revolution: mourners in the woods, people searching for the tree where they want to be buried, and entrepreneurs in the undertaker branch who are trying to meet these new needs with customer-oriented innovations.
