Seine preisgekrönte Architektur aus Sichtbeton wird von der Kunstwelt gefeiert und steht für die virtuose Verbindung von japanischer Tradition mit zeitgenössischer Moderne. Die Dokumentation stellt Andos weltberühmte Gebäude vor und begleitet ihn bei der Arbeit. Ando lässt uns persönlich daran teilhaben, was ihn inspiriert und motiviert.
Tadao Ando - from emptiness to infinity
The documentary TADAO ANDO portrays one of the most important architects worldwide: the Japanese “Master of Minimalism“, Tadao Ando.
Until such time as people become acquainted with the architecture of Tadao Ando, they consider exposed concrete to be “ugly, old and hostile to life“. His award-winning architecture designed in exposed concrete is celebrated in the art world and represents the virtuoso combination of Japanese tradition with contemporary modernism. The documentary presents Ando’s world famous buildings and accompanies him during his work. Ando shares with us what inspires and motivates him.
