Bewiesen ist das jedoch nicht. Tatsache ist allerdings, dass im Laufe der Jahrhunderte eine Reihe von Deutschen in die Südsee kamen. Sie gründeten auf Tonga Handelsposten, Geschäfte und Familien, deren Spuren noch heute zu finden sind.
