Dieser Film deckt die globale Gefahr der toxischen Algen auf und zeigt, wie das Problem von Jahr zu Jahr größer wird. Wir begleiten Wissenschaftler, die mit modernster Technik die Ursachen der rasanten Algenverbreitung erforschen und Gegenmaßnahmen entwickeln. KILLERALGEN spiegelt kritisch wider, wie der menschliche Einfluss den Ozean verändert hat.
Killer algae
Global warming, aggressive agriculture, intensive shipping and overfishing of the world’s oceans have severely changed the face of our planet over the past 30 years. An alarming effect of all this is the unstoppable spread of highly poisonous unicellular algae. This film lays open the global danger posed by these toxic algae and shows how this problem is worsening from year to year. We accompany scientists using highly sophisticated equipment to investigate the reasons for this rapid algae spread, with the aim of developing countermeasures. “KILLERALGEN” critically reflects the way in which anthropogenic effects have changed the oceans.
