Das Dokudrama EICHMANNS ENDE - LIEBE, VERRAT, TOD erzählt die fast unglaubliche und teils unbekannte Geschichte Adolf Eichmanns - von der Entdeckung und Ergreifung des Organisators der Massendeportationen europäischer Juden. Regisseur Raymond Ley verknüpft historisches Bildmaterial mit Berichten von Betroffenen und Zeitzeugen.
Nicht zuletzt die hochkarätige Besetzung der Spielszenen macht das Dokudrama zur packenden Darstellung eines schrecklichen Kapitels in der deutschen Geschichte. In einer beeindruckenden Anverwandlung spielt Herbert Knaup den „Buchhalter des Todes“ Adolf Eichmann, der für Hannah Arendt - Zeugin im Eichmann-Prozess - einst die "Banalität des Bösen" verkörperte.
Eichmann’s final hour - love, betrayal, death
The docudrama „EICHMANNS ENDE - LIEBE, VERRAT, TOD“ tells about the almost unbelievable and partly unknown story of Adolf Eichmann - about the discovery and personification of the organiser of the mass deportation of European Jews. The director Raymond Ley combines historical film footage with reports by persons affected and witnesses of the time.
Last but not least, the top-class casting of the enacted scenes transforms the docudrama into a breathtaking account of a horrific episode in German history. In an impressive guise, Herbert Knaup plays the “bookkeeper of death”, Adolf Eichmann, who, in the eyes of Hannah Arendt - a witness in the Eichmann trial - once embodied the "banality of evil".
