In einer Welt, die von männlicher Dominanz und starren Geschlechterrollen geprägt ist, erzählt WO/MEN die bewegende Geschichte von sechs Frauen, die sich entschlossen haben, ihre Weiblichkeit aufzugeben, um als Männer zu leben. Für sie ist es der einzige Weg, patriarchale Strukturen zu umgehen, misogynen Übergriffen zu entkommen, die Familie wirtschaftlich zu unterstützen oder einer Zwangsehe zu entfliehen. Doch es geht um mehr als nur eine Verkleidung oder das Annehmen männlicher Privilegien − es geht um die Sehnsucht nach Freiheit, Selbstbestimmung und einem Leben jenseits der gesellschaftlichen Zwänge. WO/MEN stellt Stereotype und gängige Vorstellungen von Geschlechterdebatten auf den Kopf.
House with a Voice
In a world characterized by male dominance and rigid gender roles, HOUSE WITH A VOICE tells the moving story of six women, who have decided to give up their femininity in order to live as men. For them, it is the only way to bypass patriarchal structures, escape misogynistic attacks, support their families economically or escape a forced marriage. But it is about more than just dressing up or accepting male privileges − it is about the longing for freedom, self-determination, and a life beyond the constraints of society. HOUSE WITH A VOICE turns stereotypes and conventional ideas of gender debates upside down.
